Plan a route and discover sights
With our route planner, you can easily create your individual route — including places worth seeing along the route. Here you'll learn how to add waypoints, discover highlights and save or export your completed route.
Add start and destination
1. On the map
Long press on a point on the map to open the context menu. There you can use the point as takeoff or target Set it for your route.
If you only select one destination, the starting point is automatically calculated based on your current location (if you have allowed location sharing).
2. Using text search:
Simply enter the name of a place or address in the search field and select the appropriate entry from the list of suggestions. This allows you to easily add destinations or waypoints.
Find sights along the way
This is how you can find exciting places along your route:
- Use the sorting in the overview (e.g. Special, for kids, culture) to give you an overview depending on your interest. Later, you can also filter more specifically (e.g. by treetop trail, beach, industrial cultural museum, etc.)
- Limit your search to a specific map — ideal if you're looking for stops in a specific region.
- Add interesting places by clicking on the heart of your route — they are saved and can be used for export.
Save and export route
The places you have added to the route are marked with a red heart, and you can also see the number of marked places in the “Bookmarked” tab. These locations are now saved together with the route and you can also access them again later under Profile -> My Routes.
You can also export the saved locations (or just a selection) in the route overview, e.g. to Google Maps navigation.
